UCP of Central Arizona uses current evidence-based therapies in our intensive model of therapy. Our intensive therapies are true to their name. It\u2019s an \u201cintense\u201d time of focus on skills that you, your child and their therapist decide are important.<\/p>\n

Your child\u2019s therapist will create the \u201cjust right\u201d challenge<\/a><\/strong>that encourages repetitive practice, leading to motor learning. Motor learning make changes in a child\u2019s neural network <\/a><\/strong>needed for skill acquisition. When your child has fun while working hard, they will be more likely to retain those skills and be more motivated to use their new skills at home. Are you familiar with Episodic Bursts of Therapy? They are an intensive-like \u201cburst\u201d of therapy designed to complement ongoing therapy. Like intensives, the episodic model focuses on 1 or 2 goals that your child is really motivated to accomplish to take advantage of a period of rapid gains or help them overcome a plateau.
