Mike’s Inspiring Journey<\/h3>\n

Early Life and Entertainment<\/strong><\/p>\n

Born without his right hand, Mike has continuously broken barriers and inspired others across various fields. His journey into the public eye began at a young age when he appeared in the 1974 film “The Trial of Billy Jack,” playing the pivotal role of Danny. This early experience in the entertainment industry laid the groundwork for his future ventures in public speaking and media.<\/p>\n

Professional Sports Achievements<\/strong><\/p>\n

Defying physical challenges, Mike made history in professional sports by becoming the first one-handed bowler to join the Professional Bowlers Association (PBA). His highest finish in a PBA event was second in the 1991 Southwestern Open on the regional tour.<\/p>\n

Corporate Success<\/strong><\/p>\n

After his bowling career, Mike embarked on a successful corporate journey with Discount Tire. Over several years, he held various roles, significantly contributing to the company\u2019s digital and customer service strategies. His innovative approach included establishing their eBusiness presence and launching their social media platforms.<\/p>\n

Battling Cancer and Advocacy Work<\/strong><\/p>\n

In 2016, Mike faced a life-threatening battle with cancer. Following surgery and radiation, he emerged cancer-free and deeply introspective about his life\u2019s purpose. This experience led him to retire from his corporate role and dedicate his efforts to supporting the limb loss community.<\/p>\n

Podcasting and Community Engagement<\/strong><\/p>\n

Mike launched the podcast “We\u2019re Not Stumped,” where he interviews fellow amputees and those involved in the prosthetics and adaptive communities. The podcast is a blend of education and entertainment, offering a platform for sharing stories and providing support.<\/p>\n
