These two wonderful ladies are the face of UCP, they are the ones who will greet you with a friendly smile when you come through the doors of our beautiful Laura Dozer Center. They also are the ones who will answer every phone call. They set a record of answering almost every phone call so you will never have to talk to a machine!
As receptionist for UCP of Central Arizona, Bobbie McGriff plays an integral role to ensuring that our families and guests feel welcomed at the Laura Dozer Center. Originally from Des Moines, Iowa, Bobbie began working at UCP 14 years ago. In addition to her duties as the agency receptionist she currently provides administrative support to the Early Learning Center. Bobbie is dedicated to the children we serve and says the best part of her job is greeting the children each morning and seeing the progress they make as a result of the services they receive.
Bobbie is the mother of one son who serves in the U.S. Navy and every Friday she wears her “Proud Navy Mom” t-shirt in his honor.
Laura has been part of the UCP team since 2012. Her passion for helping people with disabilities led her into the Day Treatment and Training Program where she provided love and compassionate care to the children in her room. She shares – “I’ve been really impressed with the wide range of services UCP offers. Over the past 3 ½ years, I’ve been able to witness firsthand the kiddo’s progressing and making wonderful strides toward living a life without limits.”
She was promoted to the Medical Front Desk, where she now works directly with the therapy department – on switchboard, scheduling/checking in patients, and assisting with various other administrative responsibilities. She loves that in her new role she is still able to see and interact with the kids and their families.
Before UCP, Laura worked as a Receptionist, Administrative Assistant, Certified Nursing Assistant, and Medical Assistant. She loves coffee, chocolate, spicy food, performing and watching live music and theater (her two boys are actively involved in both), football, a good sci-fi movie/series, and the outdoors/nature/camping.
