Kevin J. Furman UCP of Central AZ community Ambassador

Kevin J. Furman’s Lifelong Commitment to Care

Kevin J. Furman is a person with cerebral palsy and a committed advocate for expanding access to care for children and families living with disabilities.

Through the Wayfarers Lodge #50 of F&AM of Arizona, Kevin curates and leads an annual poker tournament that benefits UCP of Central Arizona. For several years, this event has raised critical funds to help close the cost-of-care gap for families who rely on UCP’s services.
Having grown up in the 1980s and 1990s, Kevin has seen firsthand how treatment for cerebral palsy has evolved. While many core interventions remain part of care, such as surgery, leg braces, assistive devices, and therapy, today’s technology has changed what is possible. He is especially encouraged by UCP’s work in early detection and zero-gait technology, which represents a level of innovation that did not exist when he was a child.
Kevin is a successful business professional and a leader of people. As a Community Ambassador, he is passionate about sharing his story to help parents of children with cerebral palsy and similar conditions see what is possible and to reinforce the importance of early, high-quality intervention.
