Frequently Asked Questions:

What are your hours?

Services are provided from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM in center, with additional support when needed.

Are my son or daughters’ benefits affected?

A disabled child’s benefits, particularly under Supplemental Security Income (SSI), are generally not significantly affected if they work, as most of their earnings are not counted when calculating their benefit amount, especially if they are a student under 22 years old; however, depending on the child’s age and work income, there could be a slight reduction in benefits depending on the specific circumstances

What does employment mean for disabled adults?

For people with disabilities, employment means greater economic self-sufficiency, an opportunity to use their skills, and more active participation in community life.

What jobs are available for people with disabilities?

People with disabilities can work in a wide variety of jobs, including those that are physically demanding, those that are remote, and those that offer flexibility

Do you administer medications?

YES. A prescription, including dosages, times, and side effects, must accompany all medications.

What types of disabilities do you serve?

We provide services to all developmental disabilities. This includes but is not limited to autism, down syndrome, cerebral palsy, and cognitive disabilities.

How would my son or daughter get to and from work?

The goal is to achieve the maximum independence possible. The LECC will work with individuals capable of using public or alternative transportation to help them utilize the system. Otherwise, if they cannot, family support is also an option. A UCP Job coach can provide pick-up and drop-off services for work for up to six months.
