From First Jobs to First Steps: Benjamin’s Journey of Joy

From Chick-fil-A to Family Strong
Amber and Erik met as teenagers while employed at Chick-fil-A in Arizona. Their friendship grew into a lifelong partnership, and together they welcomed their son, Benjamin.
Benjamin’s Story: Motivated, Joyful, and On the Move
Benjamin was born full-term and diagnosed with cerebral palsy in early childhood. He is a kind, energetic, and loving child who enjoys imaginative play and reading with his parents. Amber and Erik share that he is highly motivated to increase his independence and finds joy in active movement and self-expression.
Progress Starts With Partnership
Their family was introduced to United Cerebral Palsy (UCP) of Central Arizona through one of Benjamin’s physicians. That connection led them to begin Speech and Occupational Therapy at UCP in February 2025, followed by Physical Therapy in August 2025.
Consistency Creates Change
Amber, Erik, and Benjamin attend weekly therapy sessions and have seen meaningful improvements since integrating UCP services into their routine. They share that they have built strong connections with Benjamin’s therapists and continue to see steady progress toward his goals.
A Stronger Future, Together
UCP has become an important part of their family’s routine and support system. Amber and Erik are grateful for the care, encouragement, and partnership they have experienced through UCP’s Pediatric Therapy program.
