This initiative, which was made possible through funding from the State of Arizona and AHCCCS via ARPA, underscores our dedication to empowering adults with special needs. With meticulous planning spanning months and a vision centered on inclusivity and growth, we’re poised to transform the landscape of support services. This new space will enhance social engagement, promote health and wellness, and create a more inclusive community.

Funding: The State of Arizona and AHCCCS funded the project through ARPA funding, demonstrating a commitment to supporting programs for adults with special needs.

Timeline: The project timeline has been meticulously planned, spanning from October to January for planning, January to April for design, and April 30th for groundbreaking. This strategic planning ensures a smooth progression, with demolition scheduled for May and construction from June to September. This timeline is strategically aligned to coincide with National Adult Day Center Awareness Week on Sept 16-20.

Future for Adults with Special Needs: The project aims to empower adults with special needs by prioritizing their voices and choices, expanding opportunities for social engagement and relationship-building, promoting physical activity and nutrition through recreation and health promotion programs, and creating environmental and physical plant upgrades that prioritize health and safety.

Growth: With these updates and advancements, the program anticipates significant growth, doubling membership from 16 to 36 members and increasing employees from 5 to 10. This growth reflects the increased capacity to serve more individuals and provide enhanced support.

Community Impact: The program updates and advancements are designed to benefit the members and the broader community. The center becomes a vital resource for individuals with special needs and their families by providing enhanced programs focused on meaningful impact.
