Don’t “Wait and See” When It Come to Your Child’s Development
Are you concerned that your baby’s motor skills are delayed? Does your child feel stiff or floppy in your arms? Does your infant have problems with feeding? There are many reasons why a child may not meet their developmental milestones, so let us help you.
UCP of Central Arizona’s Baby Movement Clinic helps families who have concerns about their baby’s motor development whose babies are younger than 24 months. The program provides early detection services based on a child’s risk factors, specialized evaluations, and parent concerns. The Baby Movement Clinic provides surveillance of motor development and will recommend specialist when needed. If a diagnosis occurs, the clinic offers specialized early treatment and services, which are often lacking for babies with neurodevelopmental disabilities. If your child has motor delays that may need just a little help from an expert, therapy with home activities may be recommended.
The Baby Clinic Motor Team is made up of occupational therapists, physical therapists and feeding therapists who are experts in infant and toddler development. UCP’s team is Arizona’s largest team trained by Cerebral Palsy Foundation in the gold-standard evaluations, Hammersmith Infant Neurological Exam y Prechtl General Movement Assessment as well as the Test of Infant Motor Performance that are designed to identify neurodevelopmental delays for children under 2 years old. UCP of Central Arizona belongs to the UCP National Early Detection and Intervention Collaborative.
